Itinerary

Arrive in New York, the city that never sleeps, and transfer independently to your hotel.

This morning enjoy the city of New York. Catch glimpses of the famous skyline as you absorb the bustle and energy of the Big Apple. May we suggest a stroll through Central Park, a bird’s eye view on a Manhattan Helicopter Tour (optional), or reenact history with a kiss in Times Square. Bring your camera!

Today, drive across New York state through the Finger Lakes Country and towards the Canadian border. Indulge in a spot of wine-tasting at Watkins Glen (optional), on the shores of Lake Seneca, named for the Seneca Indian Nation. Continue to Buffalo for overnight.

Today take a short drive to Niagara Falls, perhaps take a ride aboard the Maid of the Mist (optional), or cross the border to Canada to take a stroll along Table Rock to view the thundering waters of the Horseshoe Falls. You may choose to take an optional trip to Skylon Tower for lunch at its revolving restaurant. Skylon Tower, hovering 775 feet above Niagara gorge, features an observation deck that affords views of an 8,000 mile area, as far as the eye can see. Return to Buffalo for overnight.

Depart Buffalo and travel into Pennsylvania Dutch country, also known as Amish Country. The lifestyle of the Amish people embraces the areas natural beauty. Explore the region before checking into your hotel for your overnight stay.

This morning travel through the Appalachian Mountains along the picturesque Susquehanna River, the longest river on the American East Coast. Visit the historic Gettysburg Civil War National Battleground, site of the largest battle ever fought on American soil, and the place where President Lincoln gave his famous address in 1863. From here, you will journey to the nation’s capital, Washington, D.C. Make time this evening to see the city monuments by night.

Enjoy time visiting D.C. with such highlights as the U.S. Capitol Building, Supreme Court, Library of Congress, the F.B.I. Building, Washington Monument, Lincoln Memorial, the White House and Arlington National Cemetery, site of the JFK Memorial. Spend the remainder of the day exploring some of the many museums comprising the Smithsonian Institute or simply stroll the banks of the Potomac River.

This morning, continue your journey to Philadelphia, the “City of Brotherly Love” and the birthplace of America, where the Declaration of Independence was adopted on July 4, 1776. Here you will see Independence Hall and the Liberty Bell. This evening make time for an optional dinner at one of the cities most famous venues for the local delicacy of Philly Cheese Steak.

This morning we return to New York City in time for your return flight.
